Collins Elected Leadership Council President

Tracey Collins, executive director of Cincinnati Area Senior Services, has been elected president of The Leadership Council of Human Service Executives. Announced at the Leadership Council’s annual meeting on Wednesday, April 20th, Collins will serve as president for the 2011-13 board years. Collins will be responsible for presiding over meetings of Leadership Council and its Board, as well as representing the Leadership Council on the United Way Board of Directors.

The Leadership Council of Human Service Executives is a professional association of human service organizations within the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region that have a desire to improve the social conditions of people. The membership unites efforts to meet the needs of the community through capacity-building of nonprofit sector, cost-savings and using one collective voice to advocate to make strides for their respective clients.

CASS Awarded Weathering the Storm Grant for Two Replacement Trucks

Cincinnati Area Senior Services has received a $20,000 grant from the Weathering the Economic Storm Fund, a partnership of funders managed by The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Funds from the grant will be used toward the replacement of two delivery vehicles for the CASS Meals-on-Wheels program.

As the largest provider of home-delivered meals in Hamilton County, CASS delivered over 250,000 Meals-on-Wheels in 2010. Senior nutrition is a core component of the services provided to seniors in greater Cincinnati. In addition to the home-delivered meals, CASS operates five congregate meal sites and maintains a pantry to provide food staples to seniors in need.
